The Athenry Surgery Medical Practice was founded in 1983 by Doctors Michael McGloin and Bridget Keane. Following 30 years of care to the Athenry Community from our previous location, we along with our partner Doctors Ian O’Connor and David Meehan developed the Athenry Primary Care Centre. We opened for business on 22nd July 2013.
The Surgery’s incorporation within the Primary Care Centre was designed to provide a one stop location for the Athenry community to service all their healthcare requirements. Since opening its doors in 2013, the Primary Care Centre and indeed the practice has grown each year. This is testament to our patients’ approval of such a facility and the hard work and dedication of our staff.
Our main focus is our patients and our services are delivered to the highest standards by a strong focused team of professionals.
Our Primary Care Centre offers a broad range of HSE services including Public Health Nursing, Registered General Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Child Psychology, Audiology, Antenatal Outreach, Community Mental Health, Autism Services and TUSLA Family Support. All HSE services within the Primary Care Centre can be contacted by phone on 091 737300.
In addition, our centre accommodates Jane Ann Meehan, Chartered Physiotherapist and Athletics Specialist, McSharry’s Pharmacy, SUGRU Psychological Wellness Services, Moving4Health – Health & Wellness Programs run by Caroline Costello, Hidden Hearing Ltd., Susan Slevin, Art Therapist MA, Ann Cleary, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Vasectomy Ireland clinics and Phillipa McGuinness, Counselling and Psychotherapist Services.
